Gammel Strand is a locally rooted, internationally oriented art center and cultural meeting point in the heart of Copenhagen. The exhibition program presents art that takes a critical and nuanced approach to the present and focuses on the big questions of our time – from the intimately personal to global dilemmas. Gammel Strand is also a platform for conversations, debates, and activities that bring people, art, and culture together in new communities.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Gammel Strand again on 18 September, with two new exhibitions and an unforgettable opening party. Everyone is welcome.
Still Joy brings together Ukrainian and international contemporary artists around themes of joy, community, and vitality, while Soft as Butter, Brave as a Hare invites visitors into Olivia Holm-Møller's (1875-1970) colourful, curious and uncompromising artistic practice.
