Katharina Sieverding 05.03–30.08.2026

Heavy makeup, slow, lingering camera movements, harsh experimental music. Katharina Sieverding (b. 1941) turned the selfie inside out long before the concept even existed. Since the late 1960s, she has used her own face as artistic and political material. Her self-portraits are investigations of the gaze: Who is looking, who is being seen, and under what conditions?

Daddy Issues
Gruppeudstilling 29.01–03.05.2026

From Darth Vader’s cruel, selfish, and manipulative father figure over Dustin Hoffman’s well-meaning and confused single dad in Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), to the overly sensitive and painfully embarrassing Phil Dunphy in the TV series Modern Family (2009–2020). The father has assu- med many guises in popular culture. In the contemporary art, however, he has remained conspicuously absent. The exhibition Daddy Issues sets out to rectify that.
