Sara-Vide Ericson
Oil on canvas. Landscapes, darkness and transformation.
Sara-Vide Ericson (b. 1983, SE) is one of the Nordic region’s foremost innovators in painting. Through her large, figurative oil paintings, Ericson draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings in Hälsingland, northern Sweden.

In her largest solo exhibition to date, SUBTERRANEAN HUNGER at Gammel Strand, Ericson opens up a sensory and mythological universe where landscapes and contemporary figures merge in an intense exploration of identity, rituals, and transformation.

Rooted in her own bodily experiences, Ericson’s works move between familiar everyday scenes and a dreamlike layer of prehistoric symbols and primal instincts. The northern Swedish landscape seeps into the paintings, inviting viewers to step into something – and emerge transformed.
