The discussion about sculpture in public space is in full swing, and questions about who will be allowed to occupy our common squares and streets.

Culture Minister Jacob Engel-Schmidt has just launched a pool to establish new sculptures of significant, historical women in order to correct a skewed gender representation in urban spaces. In this connection, we ask the in-depth questions: What is the significance of the sculpture in our shared spaces, who decides how they look and should we continue or break with the classic portraits when the new sculptures are erected.

Meet a fantastic panel of professionals and artists who especially want to show their perspective on the diskurs and share their experience with the area. Come along to an evening where we discuss what public sculpture should and can do. What it represents and who is behind it.

Here you can meet: Christine Buhl-Andersen, head of the New Carlsberg Foundation, which is the biggest promoter of art in public space. Lejla Mrgan, museum inspector at Frederiksborg Museum, and specialist in classical sculpture concepts. Sophia Kalkau, artist and the woman behind the much talked about Zygote on Cristmas Møllers Plads, and Tove Storch, artist and current exhibition at Gammel Strand.
